Looking Good! Harried holiday shoppers can get their gift-giving plans in shape by adding flowers to their lists, say the editors of a national fitness magazine.
The December 2008 issue of Shape magazine calls flowers "The Gift That Makes You Look Good" and cites the Society of American Florists's (SAF) Power of Giving Study as reason why they're the present to pick this year. The study, commissioned by SAF and the American Floral Endowment, shows that people who give flowers make the best impression, compared to those bearing other gifts.
Shape drives home the "flowers as image booster" idea by noting that women who give flowers are viewed as "successful, happy and sociable." This is one of many articles in fashionable magazines recently to focus on the many positive social effects that flowers have on our lives and on our health.
